Scary Spider Craft Decorations
Everyone loves Halloween decorations, and kids do most of all. Get them involved by letting them help you create some awesome spooky spiders to hang around the house. But first, take them to pick up the arts & crafts supplies in Perth.
Step 1: Get Your Supplies
The first thing you need is your supply list. So head to Red Dot and get the items you’ll need.
- Liquid glue
- Glitter
- Wax paper
- Black chenille yarn
- Black pipe cleaners
- Black pom poms
- Wiggly eyes
Step 2: Create the Spider Web
Lay out a large sheet of wax paper on a flat surface. Using the liquid glue, draw a spider web and cover the glue completely with the glitter.
Gently shake the excess glitter off. You can use a paper plate and pour it back into the glitter container to use later.
Let the web dry completely on the wax paper. This may take up to 24 hours. When it’s completely dry, peel it gently from the wax paper.
Step 3: Make Your Spider
Use a black pom pom as the spider’s body. Cut four black pipe cleaners to about 3 times the length of the pom pom and wrap them around it to make the spider’s legs.
Stick on wiggly eyes, and your spider is complete!
Step 4: Attach the Spider
Tie a length of chenille yarn to your spider and then to the spider web to let the spider dangle from the web.
Then, just use more chenille yarn to hang your new decoration wherever you’d like!
Now that you know how to create your own adorable spider, you can create several and hang them around your home to get into the Halloween spirit.
But what do you do with your leftover pom poms, pipe cleaners, glitter, and other supplies? You store them along with your other stationery supplies in Perth for your next craft project, of course! Mason jars with lids are the perfect storage solution.
